Sandy River Beach in Jonesport, Maine

Sandy River Beach is a municipally owned shoreline spot in Jonesport, located off Route 187 on Chandler Bay.

Visitors come to picnic, fish from shore, and launch small boats by hand. Recreational shellfish harvesting is also popular here.

In 2012, the town purchased an additional lot across from the beach to support both working commercial harvesters and beachgoers. That lot includes parking and a 50-foot right-of-way that provides direct access to the beach.

Some additional shoreline access is possible thanks to neighboring private landowners who currently allow it.
