Bold Coast Scenic Byway
Maine’s Bold Coast Scenic Byway stretches about 125 miles and serves up some of the state’s most striking coastal scenery. Plan for at least three hours so there’s time to pull over, explore, and take in a few standout stops along the way.

Through Jonesport
In Jonesport, the byway runs along State Route 187, the main road linking Jonesport to U.S. Route 1. This section is part of both the Bold Coast National Scenic Byway and the Bold Coast Scenic Bikeway, making it a popular corridor for road-trippers and an increasingly traveled route for touring cyclists.

Lobster Boat Races
Jonesport’s piece of the byway is also known for its annual lobster boat races. A favorite spot to watch is from Beals Bridge, right where it meets Route 187 in downtown.
