Shipyard & Marina in Jonesport, Maine

Jonesport Shipyard is located in a well-protected cove on Moosabec Reach. GPS coordinates (lat/long): N 44° 32.040′, W 067° 35.550′.

They offer two moorings in the NW corner of Sawyer Cove to accommodate transient boats up to 40 feet long with a 6-foot draft. There are five moorings outside the breakwater to accommodate boats up to 60 feet long. Locals and cruisers also rely on the shipyard for expert service, repair, maintenance and storage.

The dinghy dock is available to mooring guests. It has a depth of 7-foot at mean high tide and is dry at low tide. Inside are clean showers, laundry, and marine supplies.

Jonesport has diligently worked to preserve public access to significant water bodies and create public access to surface waters, although not all locations are easily accessible or safe for entry to beaches or the shorefront.

Sawyer Cove Marina is easily accessible and regularly maintained. There are nearly 100 moorings and slips for commercial and recreational boats. Commercial vessels also utilize the Sawyer Cove recreational ramp with the State’s knowledge, but this use causes congestion between recreational and commercial traffic, and recreation is the priority use.
