Veterans Memorial Park

The Town of Jonesport Veterans Memorial Park was dedicated on Saturday, June 14, 2025. The park is located at 17 High Street in Jonesport, overlooking the harbor.

The Veterans Memorial is an all-wars monument crafted from granite and inscribed with a dedication to our fallen heroes. It is surrounded by the American flag and the flags of the Armed Forces, along with marker stones representing each branch of service. A large stone plot for veteran paver memorials lies between the flags and the monument.

Jonesport’s Veterans War Memorial Committee provides ongoing community involvement and stewardship in honoring local veterans. A Civil War monument called, the "Sailors and Soldiers Memorial", is located near the Peabody Memorial Library.

Inscription on monument:

Front: "Our veterans service shapes our nation.  With eternal appreciation we honor their enduring legacy and selfless devotion."
Back: "Because all gave some and some gave all we owe a great debt to those who have sacrificed for our freedom. Freedom is not free."

A Granite Paver may be purchased to commemorate any veteran. The paver will be placed along the walkway in the ground around the new and the renovated Veteran's Monuments.
